Dokumenttielokuva kertoo Vantaalla sijaitsevasta tanssilava Pavista, jossa on tanssittu vuodesta 1965 lähtien. Pääosin talkoovoimin toimivalla Pavilla toistuu kolmesti viikossa talkoolaisten, tanssijoiden ja esiintyvien artistien yhteinen näytelmä, jossa jokainen saa hetken ajan olla yhteisessä universumissa, kokea tanssin ja yhteisöllisyyden riemua etäällä maailman pahuudesta. Kaikkia yhdistää intohimo tanssiin ja iskelmämusiikkiin. Tuo kaiken ylittävä intohimo on auttanut Pavin yli vaikeiden aikojen ja tullee auttamaan myös tulevaisuudessa.

The documentary film, Pavi – In the Arms of Dance, tells the story of the life, people and significance of Pavi, the dance hall located in Vantaa. Operated largely by volunteers, Pavi has hosted dance since 1965. Three times a week, volunteers, dancers and performing artists come together to create a shared performance in which everyone can, for moment, exist in the same universe and experience the joy of dance and community, far from the world’s darkness. They are united for a passion for dance and for Finnish popular music. This all-surpassing passion has carried Pavi through difficult times and will likely continue to do so in the future.
